For so long, when we watched the big headlines, we automatically knew it wouldn't be us.

This is so great.

I think it's just going to make it hurt that much more when we lose out on these guys, and have to "settle" for others.

Most of the reports that state we're interested in all these players do so because we have so much cap room and so many holes... There's no way to tell if we're seriously interested in anybody besides Zach Thomas (who we lost out on) and Dan FREAKIN Morgan.

I sort of just meant because we're a bigger franchise in the media's eyes.

And if you don't think we're just as interested and invested in Samual than Morgan and Thomas I don't know what to tell ya. :)

Biggest need and top five cap money? Yeah, seems like a good fit.

It's nice, but nothing is as nice as seeing that they signed. Until then, it's inflating your zeppelin during a lightning storm.

I also don't contribute the extra exposure to the media. It's more or less because of all the help we need.

I'm not talking about Samual specifically, I mean in the past few years.

It's so nice to have people mention the Saints in FA as rumors!
I don't really see why. It doesn't help our team to be mentioned as "possible suitors" and "leading candidates" for a certain player. I'm convinced that the reason Randy Mueller was so popular around here is because he was always "making a splash" in FA. But going out and signing players for the sake of making headlines does not necessarily make our team better.

I still have a queasy feeling in my stomach that we're going to overpay for someone who doesn't even fill our biggest need.
