John McCain: a Liberal Republican (1 Viewer)

I like him.

TPS

Why not just vote for a real liberal then, who's not afraid to hide in the Republican party?

He's a liberal interventionist also, more expensive shenaningans all over face of the Earth will follow.

Yeah, nobody ever trips over their words. Ever.

Stupid Huffington twaddle, typical of that group.

You want to disagree with his policies, political stances, or viewpoints? Fine. But don't offer up this kind of garbage as some sort of latent proof that he isn't who he says he is, or whatever.

Terrible.

I wish all other elections for this year were completed one month prior to the presidential elections... that way I could vote for the opposite party from the one that controlls congress. I am keeping my fingers crossed for gridlock ... so that nothing outiside the realm of absolute center even has a chance of squeaking through.

Actually, this is getting a lot of play on A.M. radio from the hard right "told you so" crowd. I heard it on three different shows this morning driving in. Probably getting more play here than most places with the primary Tuesday.

Not surprising.

The "hard-____" wings of the two major parties tend to be the most emotionally illiterate, incapable of using any sort of objectivity or big picture mentality.

Anybody who tries to use this for more than comedic value has a clear agenda that pushes them well beyond rationality IMO.

That being said when you consider the controversy about his "conservative credentials" it is a pretty funny slip of the tongue. :hihi:

Social Liberal. Fiscal Conservative.

McCain's policies/actions are neither socially liberal nor fiscally conservative. At the end of the day I'll vote for whichever candidate the Libertarian's trot out same as always, but that's also because I live in Texas where my vote doesn't count :covri:. If I lived in a swing state - I would have to think long and hard about voting against McCain for those very reasons.

What a horribly uninspiring bunch.
