It's kind of hard to say... if Dorsey or ellis is there then it's simple. But i dont see any linebackers worth the # 10 pick and i guess we could never have too many CB's i would say trade down

Hey, wasn't this thread already posted? Oh yea, same thread except it had Asante Samuel's name in place of Sheppard.

When Sheppard is gone, we will insert Gay's name into this thread?

Exactly Syracuse. No matter who we mention this front office won't pick up a true starter. I am sure we will find plenty of castoffs though.

if you pick up L. Sheppard which i hope it happen, then you have the luxury to pick the best player available or trade the pick for multi-picks. Also, you can trade it for a player + pick for 09.

now you're getting the hang of it :9:

I gonna go out on a limb and say if we did get Sheppard, we won't be picking at #10.

Best Defensive Player Available. DT would be the first priority.

Too bad the Saints FO drafts BPA regardless. If Clady is there and if he's the highest guy on the board, he'll be our pick. Pretty simple.

Sheppard sounds like a possibility...Lets see...oft injured?..Check. Takes away a draft pick(possibly pick 10) that will cost a lot of money?...Check. Still has years on his current contract that are way below his market value so we can keep our cap space....Check. Will demand an outrageous contract in a few years if not immediately which will eventually force us to trade him for little or nothing because "he will want more than he is worth" (Market Value)...Check. Yep Sheppard is our man. (cynicism off)

Exactly....sure we could pick a CB or DT or LB....but we feel smart drafting BPA instead of "need" player (a player that can solidify a spot) so we will probably take an O-lineman then later in the draft address CB or DT with some lousy 5th rounder that we are gonna try and convince people he "was on our radar we figured we could get him in the 5th" when we could of choosen a O-lineman in the 5th round and picked a player who could start or contribute right away even if we did pick him 5-10 slots before everybody thought he should go.....now were stuck with a player who deserved to be picked at #10...but we dont have any use for besides saying "now we have solid depth"....
