All I hear is about how great this game is. Why? What makes it so fun? Seems like a standard fighting game with the Mario characters.

Someone please tell me what I'm missing.

I'm looking forward to Mario Kart. That game was good family fun when I was young. Being able to play online with the family is going to rule!

Sorry, I'm not trying to thread jack!

Even though I'm not a big fan of Smash Brothers, I'll give it props in the sense that it is unique...its not just another fighting game. The fact that you can fight multiple characters at once, sets it off into its own class, but then the various levels having their own flaws and things that can help/harm you adds an extra flavor to the game. I'm assuming the new version will address some of the camera issues that the old game had (I've never played Melee so they might have fixed it there).

It's just something different. It has a totally different fighting style (percentages and the ability to go wherever you want). Plus, the Nintendo vibe makes it nostalgic, and it's easy to learn and very difficult to master. It's my favorite fighting series by far.

i am going to love it because i am going to pwn with pikachu all day in that game. that is all. lol

i really love this game. however i will say that the first time you play it, it just seems like a complete jumbled mess. in my opinion, the game kind of sucks until you actually know how to play and can figure out what is going on. it's hard to get my friends who've never played before to play it cause they just think it's pure button masher and have no idea what's going on.

but, it is an amazing, amazing game.

I played the first one and found it extremely boring after 10 minutes. Way to linear for me. So, I don't get it either. I can see how it may be fun for parties or little kids but there's others (Rayman) I would rank above it for those situations.

To each his own.

Hmm, thanks, y'all. I think I'm going to check it out. Gamestop has an offer where you trade in two games and get it for 9.99. I've finished RE4, so that's one.. Now I have to figure out what other game to let go. I have such a hard time trading in games (because I so rarely finish them and want to go back to them). I'd trade in Mario Party or Carnival Games, but it's fun to have those when my 3yo niece comes over. Hmmmm.

i def wouldn't say it's for little kids, but if you aren't going to play it w/people, it may not be worth all your money. it's def must fun w/a friend or 3 friends.

+1 on all accounts. It's WAY more fun multiplayer (computers are predictable and downright easy once you get decent), and it's a lot deeper than it looks.

The online component while not as good as we all would like it (no voice chat or leader boards) will definitely add to this game.

Hint: Single Player is LAME. The game basically only tacked that on there to have a single player mode.

The beauty of the Smash Bros games is 100% in the multiplayer. There is no better 4 player game than SMash. It beats out Mario Kart AND GoldenEye.

It's easy to learn the basics, but hard to master. Basic moves are simple enough to do that anyone can start playing right away, but the strategies, tactics, combos, moves, and subtle nuances take a long time to learn and master.

PS: I just got home with Brawl! I will report back in with my judgement!

got the game, and loving it. it's great. the music, levels, and characters are all great. also, it's great to see all the old school levels, characters strewn throughout the game.

that being said, if you don't have anyone to play it with, it's probably not worth the money. but, just w/one other friend, this becomes one of the most fun games period.
