Our starting LB corp looks like this

SLB - Scott Fujita Backup - Mark Simoneau
MLB - Johnathen Vilma :ezbill: Backup - Mark Simoneau, Dan Morgan
WLB - Scott Shanle or Dan Morgan (I really see these guys just rotating sort of a 1a 1b type) Backup - Mark Simoneau, Dan Morgan or Scott Shanle

Now on paper that LB corp. looks a hell of a lot better than last season! I think the signing of Morgan gives us more flexibility in the draft and I would not be surprised to see us select CB, DT, and TE in the first three rounds now. I understand that Morgan is a big risk but I believe his signing could have the FO leaning more to picking up let’s say a Martellius Bennett (who is going to be a hell of a player wish he would have came to LSU instead of A&M) in the second round.

It's nice to project your hopes in the draft like that, but the front office spent all last offseason picking up 4th tier defensive free agents so that they could blow their first round pick on a receiver. With Stinchcomb entering the 2nd year of a 2 year deal and Jammal Brown entering the final year of his contract, I fully expect for them to draft an OT with the first pick and then act completely oblivious when fans are upset.

We still have Troy Evans at OLB, and he didn't look terrible when he got his chances last season. He's also a solid STer, so I think he'll make the team.

I'm gonna be ticked-off if we don't pick a LB in the first 3 rounds of this draft!

I think WM makes a very good point... however, I would not be upset at all if we took Clady at # 10.

Evans signed elsewehere, if i'm not mistaken.

He signed a 2 year contract last year. I'm like the other poster, I want to see more of him because he impressed me last year.

Don't get me wrong fellas I defiently want to get another LB in the draft as well because lets face while it looks good on paper it is just that paper. We need someone else to come in a compete at the WLB, but this is the front offices M.O. Morgan is a talented guy but has a serious history of being injury prone. I was just throwing it out there that I would not be suprised if they didn't take a LB in the first three rounds.

As far as the first I would not be upset at all if they took an OT. You can never have enough quality big uglies up front thats a fact. Espically when the success of this franchise rides so much on the arm of Mr. Drew its simple you need to protect your investment. We could easily find a starting caliber DT and CB in rounds 2 and three of this draft.

Also, I can't believe I left off Evans he will defiently be in the mix in the LB rotation next season sorry about that guys my bad.

Can Dan Morgan even play a down? %$^&, we got a MLB with a questionable knee and a Concussed OLB. I love them both and followed them at U of M, but it seem like we are reaching for the stars this offseason.

each day I grow less and less against going OT with our #10 pick. our D still needs some players but we are adding guys that might pay off. drew being healthy and upright is priority #1 for this team.

With that LB corp, I really hope we get a DT early. They look unstoppable but their one weakness would be blitzing, IMO. I'm sure someone more knowledgable may correct me, but they just don't seem to be blitzers....so a good pass rush with the front 4 is now a must.

Wow! Morgan really is a BEAST that he can be his own back-up! :hihi:
Seriously, I think Morgan will be the starter and Shanle the back-up. Morgan is a talented player who has been hampered by injuries. We can only hope he will get through the season without, but if he does go down, Shanle or Simoneau will be the fill in. Morgan is just more talented, so unless he either gets hurt before the season starts or proves to be too beaten up to play any more (in which case, he'll just get cut, but I think that is a low possibility), he'll be starting come opening day.
