There's no way Ellis or Dorsey goes past the Bengals at #9, which means to get either of the guys, we have to trade for either the #6, #7, or #8 slots. I bet Saints mgmt is thinking about this real hard, and I hope they do it....

Bengals fans will jump for joy if both the Falcons and Raiders eschew drafting a defensive tackle. That's because neither Glenn Dorsey nor Sedrick Ellis will go sixth, seventh or eighth - they don't fit in the 3-4 - so Cincinnati will have the opportunity to take the guy who doesn't go to Kansas City.

I know Dorsey has major injury issues, but I don't think he makes it past the Bengals, especially after they lost out in the Shaun Rogers and Dewayne Robertson sweepstakes. Cincinnati ranked 24th versus the run and managed just 22 sacks in 2007, and I think it's safe to say that adding a monstrous defensive tackle like Dorsey to the front four would vastly improve both of those statistics.

If you're wondering why Dorsey falls this far, check out the Chiefs write-up at No. 5.

Same thing I'm thiking... if we want one of them (the one that['s left), then talking to Baltimore right now about a "just in case" trade wouldn't be a bad idea.

Cincy is switching to a 3-4.

I agree if we want either we'll need to trade up. If we do, I look for New England at 7 to be it, a BPA team.

You say

"I know Dorsey has major injury issues" 'Major', huh.

I think this has been overblown in the media.

I still think we can trade with the Ravens for #8. Just leap frog the Bengals and take Ellis or Dorsey. I don't think that trade will cost that much.

That's exactly what I want to do. I'd just hate to give up our 2nd or 3rd when we don't have a 4th.

Although moving up 2 spots idk really how much it would cost. Who has the draft chart?

people act like we are just going to miss Ellis or Dorsey. If i was the bengals i would be the most worried. The saints can trade with a division rival of the bengals. imagine if someone came to us and said yea we want to pick a player the falcons desperately want and by the way we are in the AFC. oh one more think you have the #8 pick atlanta #9 and we got #10. You can still get your guy at #10. i think it is a no brainer.

While I'm inclined to agree, I also know the draft rarely shakes out the way it "should".

2004 Draft had two of the most prized DT's in the era with Tommie Harris and Vince Wilfork.....Harris, an underclass phenom terror dropped all the way to #14 and Wilfork, an explosive NT (the ones that are vary rare), dropped to #21.....

ANYTHING is possible.....

Look what happened to Warren Sapp in the draft (even though it was about a failed drug test)

Sorry Sup,

The first part makes some since, but when you went to:

"imagine if someone came to us and said yea we want to pick a player the falcons desperately want and by the way we are in the AFC. oh one more think you have the #8 pick atlanta #9 and we got #10. You can still get your guy at #10. i think it is a no brainer."

I got lost. Could you reword this with the actual teams in question for the example? Why did you use others? Or maybe you didn't, I get confused.

i meant imagine if right now in a fictional draft we have the #8 pick, Atlanta has the #9 and Ravens got #10. Say we want a OL at #8. Atlanta wants a DT and so do the ravens. the ravens call us b/c they want the DT. We are rivals with atlanta so why don't we trade back two picks still get the guy we want and hurt atlanta at the same time.

This is what i hope we can do to the Bengals with the ravens. Bengals are rumored to want a DT. So wy don't we just trade with a division rival of the bengals. I think it will be hard for the bengals to move up unless they give up tons of stuff because of being in the AFC and the point system. #4 oakland #5 chiefs #6 jets #7 new england #8 Ravens #9 Bengals. all are AFC so if we can just survive till #7 and it would be great if a Dallas trade happens so we can have a QB or other Offense player fall if mcfadden is selected by Dallas. we could possibly end up with Ellis or Dorsey. the only other team the makes me nervous is new england. they are know to want to accumulate picks but i can see them go CB or LB.
