I've always felt that in NOLA there's just too much fun and comfort to be had prior to the game. With a whole weekend in town before the game rather than a departure into hostile territory, I think a level of comfort sets in and THAT comfort has some effect on the intensity and focus of the team. I know that there are big party scenes in most every NFL city, but still, something about NOLA tops them all. There's no place like it really.

Thre are probably 100 assumptions as to why we don't have a great home record,
it's Greek to me 4sure.

Its because the home fans aren't loud enough.
Every home game should be as loud as the Philly playoff game, I left with a migrane but its a small price to pay.

What's happening is that the team is losing more games than they win at home, thus the record is sub .500. Hope that helps.

maybe it's just the opposite... the away team gets so happy in the festive atmosphere that nobody can beat them.

Honestly I think its because we play on turf and a pretty fast surface, which is Ideal for opposing WRs and RBs etc to get very nice seperation against our weak defense.

thats my theroy and i'm sticking with it.

there you go clouding the issue with facts again

I definitely would concur with this assessment. Statistics unquestionably reveal that 100% of all teams that end at least 5 home games with fewer points on the scoreboard than their opponents do ultimately complete their regular seasons with losing home records.

FACT.

FACT.

but why

Theres just too much pressure when we play at home. A franchise like ours has a long history of being crappy and that weighs on the players when they have to perform infront of a home crowd that is just looking for an excuse to stop cheering and start booing. The crowds never stay fired up. The first sign of adversity the dome quiets and people start booing.

Am I blaming the fans? No, the players should be able to overcome that, but I certainely think its a factor either way. When they are away theres no pressure to perform and the guys just do there thing. This is neither the fans, nor the players fault IMO. It just goes with the territory when your franchise is as terrible as ours has been. A superbowl is the only thing that will get that monkey off our backs.

i personally think it's our"Buisiness Like Attitude!"Kenny W. tells us about when asked how the Saints look on the sidelines before and during the games at home!!!Seems like we do a little better when the team gets a little fired up.
S.C.

I think the home crowd most of the time brings it. Sometimes we do get a little lackadasical but what do you expect when we have a terrible history.
