"Troy University strength coach Richard Shaughnessy says he's "gotten a lot of phone calls from Baltimore" since the football season ended. Baltimore asked him a lot of questions at the combine and showed him some film, and Leodis thinks they’ve shown a lot of interest in him. He’s a quality kid and he’s very talented.”

This is good news for DRC fans! So, if the Saints are really high on him and want to get him...looks like he could slip past the Ravens. Could be a smoke-screen though...but I don't think so.

I would rather the Saints have their pick of the entire group. I hardly see this as a good thing...

Like he said, it's a good thing for the DRC fans because the Ravens look like they won't be choosing him

We should make a trade to swap picks with Baltimore. They can still get Leodis with the 10th overall, and then we can draft before the Bengals to take Dorsey or Ellis with the 8th overall.

Now let's just hope that Rivers, Jenkins, and Clady are gone by 10 so that the Saints don't have any other options except for Cromartie.

Glad to hear it if true, but this time of year don't believe the hype.

Mike Jenkins will be the first cb taken.

if a qb throws at a cb and he can't catch, he just trys again
If a qb throws at a cb and gets int, he stays away from him, and they more he sees it on film the more afraid they become, then you have a cb that scares qbs, ex: Cromartie SD. and maybe his cousin. but the safe pick is Mike Jenkins, and with top ten picks you have to be safe

Don't believe the hype... teams lie like hell this time of year... especially in the top 10. If they do take him then that would be great... but I CB is deeper than DT, and I think they'll take Ellis or Dorsey, and get their CB in the 2nd.

Mike Jenkins is said to have no work ethic, think hes too good to show up to practice, etc etc, which makes me think Payton will stray far away from him. You don't take a guy with bad habits at 10

Pass deflections and interceptions are not good indication of a good corner. What you want to know is how much the corners are avoided and completion percentages.

What people have to realize that a guy like Talib makes a lot of plays and is no doubt a great play maker but that doesn't make him a great cover corner. His completion percentages to his side of the field is a staggering 51%. 47 out of 92 passes caught going his way.

Then there's Mckelvin... he already can't catch but he hasn't been a shutdown corner either with about a 48% completion rate. 34 our of 70 pass caught going his way.

Jenkins.. has a 41% completion rate. 28 of 68 were completed.

Cromartie had a 37% completion rate. 22 out of 60 passes were completed.

The reason why some guys are ranked higher right now is because of their ceiling and untapped potential.

Cason is still the most proven prospect. 23 out of 73 passes were completed to his side. A whopping 32% rate.

and Cromartie still shows to be the safer pick than Jenkins, with a 37% completion rate. There are too many variables involved to go simply by completions allowed though.

Sorry to say it but all three will still be on the board... I don't think Rivers and Clady or top 10 picks but knowing our history at drafting. We'll either select one of them, I hope we select Cromartie though.

What if the Ravens take McKelvin but the Patriots take DRC???

Miami- Matt Ryan
Stl- Chris Long
ATL- Glenn Dorsey
OAK- Darren McFadden
KC- Jake Long
NYJ- Vernon Gholston
NE- DRC
BAL- Leodis McKelvin
CIN- Sedrick Ellis
NO- ???? if this happens, I say we go Rivers, Mike Jenkins, or Mendenhall in that order

Those stats are pretty much useless

Clady probably won't even be there at 10...we shouldn't have no worries about him.

I wouldn't be mad at Rivers, since we need depth and if in-case Morgan gets hurt...I think Rivers is going to be a stud.

If we decide to go CB at 10, I really think it will be DRC. The Saints are really really interested in him, and have talked to him at the Senior-Bowl and the Combine. DRC even said that he a "great interview" with them...and like his potential. Also, we all know how the Saints LOVE small-school guys.

With a pick at the ten spot,we need a player who will get on the field in 08. Emphises on defense. Rivers, drc or McKelvin would get some playing time this season. Can't have another draft like last year where the 1st pick sits all year. Hopefully payton sees enough depth in the draft to go defense with the top three picks. With the exception of d-end and strong side lb, any number of draft choices should get playing time.
