10. New Orleans Saints — CB-KR Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
The Saints were victimized early and often with Jason David in the lineup, and they were not willing to outbid the Eagles for Asante Samuel. Sean Payton has shown an affinity for small-school talent and has made stars out of Marques Colston and Jahri Evans.

11. Buffalo Bills — DT Sedrick Ellis, USC
The Bills recognize value and are thin inside after cutting Larry Tripplett. Ellis will command double-teams inside and would be a great fit for Perry Fewell’s defense.

How would you feel about this if it happened?
CB makes by far the most sense at ten, but would you pass on such a force like Ellis, that 90% of NFL teams are crying out for. I don't think I would be very happy if we did.
A DT like Ellis or Dorsey only comes along every 4-5 years, and there are 2 in this draft.
Then again, I love DRC, and he definately COULD be on par with or better than Deion Sanders, something Sanders has said himself.

The pundits may believe in taking based on need, but the FO uses the BPA strategy and that means Ellis/Dorsey over a CB if one is there.

In this case, I would agree with the FO. Ellis, paired with our DE's, would make our whole secondary much, much better than the addition of a rookie CB.

une man's opinion... as much as I'd like us to draft DRC at 10... I doubt they'd pass on Ellis. There are a couple good CBs that will be available in the 2nd.

The trenches is what wins football games. Champ Bailey can't do anything behind the Broncos D-line, while Jason Webster looks like an all-pro behind Giants line.

Cromartie is a risk, and even if he turns into a very good corner, a big upgrade on the line like Ellis would be worth alot more.

No way they pass on Ellis....you just can't pass on a Dline talent like that. He'd be the BPA and fill one of the Saints biggest needs.

If they pass on Ellis, I'd do an Elvis and shoot my TV.

I would be very upset if we passed on Ellis for a CB when the CBs are pretty evenly valued and run from mid 1st round all the way to the mid second round. No one CB has really stood out enough to HAVE to be picked over Ellis at the 10 spot.

I would shut off my T.V and probably go out and skip the rest of the draft. Go fishing or something and relax and try and not think about football for a week or two until that settled in. I would not be happy if we passed on Ellis, for any reason short of Vernon Gholston being there. If Ellis is there at 10, and we don't pull the trigger I don't think its matters who we picked, I would just not be happy with that. Buts thats just me.

Well, what if they are planning to start moving Charles Grant to the inside to play DT? They picked up McCray, who when healthy is a beast, so can you imagine having those two paired with Smith in on the same plays? Not saying they should pass on Ellis, or Dorsey for that matter, if either are there, but maybe they have a plan in place. I'd be happy with either pick.

I want DRC as much as the next gullible fan, but that desire is usually qualified with the stipulation that neither Dorsey nor Ellis are available when we pick.

Even if Grant were moved inside...wouldn't you like to see McCray-Grant-Ellis-Smith ?

I REALLY want DRC but if we pass on Ellis for him..I don't know what I'd do

I'll do whatever the evil monkey tells me to do.

A good front 4 can make an average secondary look great -- a bad front 4 can make pro bowl defensive backs look average -- go for the front line before the CBs
