While I still think the whole NFL salary system is severely screwed up especially when it comes to rookies... what you are saying here does make sense.
It will mean a wholelot more work, but the only fair way to to ever do sport contracts is to do it year to year with one year contracts. I'm not sure if it could work in reality, but it seems like the way to go.
