ESPN: SEC > All (BCS)

In response to VVextreme's comments:

Mostly agree with the comments around Croom- but facts are facts. Unfortunately it's still a big deal because of race. But it's progress, which is better than no progress.

Definitely agree about Tebow, even though I hate Florida. Only sophomore to win the Heisman is big! He's an incredible player and could be even better this year. We'll see. I'm also a little drunk tonight so I pretty much love anyone right now. Tomorrow I'll be back to hating Tebow and talking about his jorts. But seriously - at minimum the kid is very talented at the college level. It actually feels weird to call a college stud and Heisman trophy winner "a kid." But like I said, I'm drunk.

Don't agree about Auburn - they were a great team that year and should have had a shot to back it up. It's criminal they didn't get the chance. I also think that year had a lot to do with last season - two loss LSU gets the benefit of the doubt for winning in the tough SEC. We might have missed out if this doesn't happen to Auburn. Bottom line - Auburn went through the SEC and didn't lose. That's hard to argue with, despite how many other teams won the BcS title. Being clutch is just as important as basic talent. Congrats to Auburn on that great season.

I would love a playoff system as well. I think a lot of SEC teams would fare very well. The problem is how many teams do you let in? There's always an argument for who got left out.

I also agree with VVextreme vs LSSpam (who I really respect and like reading his comments). If that QB was John David Parker then noone would talk about that game. Ole Miss is a historical rival despite their recent track record. LSU was winning the game and Eli tripped and didn't complete the play. Despite this, he could have still been sacked, thrown an incompetion or interception, or completed a pass short of the first down. A very important win, but in the end no more important than any of the other wins. Another loss besides Florida and we're in a different bowl game. History says beating a SuperBowl QB is a bigger feat.
