ESPN: SEC > All (BCS)

No. That was your first BCS championship.

True, but you didn't say BCS championship, you said national championship. However it's just semantics. No big, everyone here knows what LSU has won.

No. It couldn't. Ole Miss and LSU were tied in the SEC at that point. Had LSU lost, LSU does not go to the SEC Championship game, LSU does not win the SEC, LSU does not go to a BCS game, they do not pass go, they do not collect $200 dollars.

Any other loss they still have a shot at the SEC and maybe (probably not, but theoretically) a shot at the NC. At the very least they get to a BCS game. Ole Miss also came within a hair's breadth of winning that game. I know. I was there.

And had LSU had two losses that year, then no wayyyy would they have won the national championship that year. USC would have been in the championship instead of us. That makes every other game just as important. And had we lost to Awbarn or any other SEC team, I don't think we would have been in position to make it to the SECCG anyways. Wasn't Ole Piss undefeated in the SEC at that point? I can't remember the records that well of the other teams. It was a good game. We played poorly in that game, so it was closer than it should have been. I just think it's overrated when compared to some of the other monster games out there that have been played. But I respect your opinion and see where you are coming from. To each his own.
