Video: how our monetary system works
I posted this video in a couple of other threads, but I figured I would start a new thread for it since so many on here are saying that they wish they understood more about what is currently going on. I think that it is really important that we as Americans have an understanding of the origin and operation of our monetary system and its role as the root cause of current problems.
If you have any interest in this subject I promise that you will enjoy this and feel enlightened after watching.
"Money as Debt": This does a great job of conveying a basic understanding of our monetary system. It is animated, though--so if that throws anyone off, see the video below.

Edit: Here are more videos on the same subject (including the original that I posted) I would suggest watching the one above (or the first one below) first, as it gives you a basic understanding.
"Money, Banking, and the Federal Reserve": This is another great video for basic understanding. Some may prefer it to the animated film above.

"Fiat Empire: Why the Federal Reserve Violates the U.S. Constitution": This is the original I posted and then removed for its seeming "tin foil hattedness". Don't let that throw you off though--it still gets across a great message and suggests some real world fixes to the current system.

"History of the Federal Reserve (Money Masters)": This goes into incredible depth talking about the history and evolution of money from the beginning of time with an emphasis on more recent history and causes of current problems. It is my favorite all-time documentary. Don't be thrown off by its early 90s production value or length--if this stuff interests you, you won't regret watching it.

"Creature from Jeklly Island": I haven't watched this one yet but plan to soon. It covers the same subject, just with an emphasis on alternative details.

If you get around to watching any of these, please post below to let me know what you think. I am especially intersted in anyone that disagrees with (or doesn't believe) some of the content and why. Additionally, if anyone is interested, I can suggest TONS more material on the subject.
Thanks,
Michael
