No recipe. I've tried lots of ways without a smoker and it never works. I'd try the smoker, if I wasn't lazy.
But, since I am lazy, I'll let you know where to get the best beef jerky in the area. Go across the river on Hwy. 90 to a place called "Bowie Junction". It doesn't look like it's open, but it's got a smoker and their jerky is great. It's on Hwy. 90 just after the short cut route to Thibodeaux (if you know where that is.) Basically, keep going down Hwy. 90 until you see a Shell station with the name Bubba's II on it and "Bowie Junction" is right past that on the left. If you reach the Houma Thibodeaux exit, you've gone to far.
