Jonathan Vilma Arrested - Confirmed

I see what you're getting at, but the court thing isn't a strong argument. I'm assuming that the "'almost' killing someone" part as attempted murder. In that case, someone was actually harmed and didn't die or someone had the intent to kill someone (and failed). I find it hard to believe that John had the intent to hit those pedestrians (if he did, then I don't want him on the team). I'm siding with NPs6724 on this one. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this situation should be taken lightly, but at the same time, neither of the pedestrians were harmed, so it shouldn't be taken to the other extreme either.

I just see a lot of "well maybe the cop did this or that" and "he didn't hurt anyone," while not ever seriously considering the possibility that Vilma may have been completely in the wrong here. Vilma did break the law, and almost harmed people in the process, that's the thing. It's not a simple fact that he almost hit someone, it's that he was breaking a law anyways when it happened. Then he was uncooperative with the officer apparently.

Unfortunately I'm not that surprised that people are refusing to believe that Vilma could do something like this. You cut a couple of United Way commercials and you have "high character" all of a sudden? The fact is no one here knows Vilma enough to know if he has high character. Before anyone says "you don't know him either" that's true, and that's why viewing what he did as I would anyone else. He doesn't deserve any additional benefit of the doubt.
