Anyone think we should blitz more?
Depends on opponent and game situation. If you think you can score 24 points against the Bucs, you should be able to hold them to no more than 21 without sending the house. And whatever you do, you've got to be like the pitcher who can change speeds, and vary the attack to keep the offense out of any kind of rhythm (like the Ravens did last week; note that they, too, gave up big plays).
We don't really have the athletes, either as blitzers or in the secondary, to rely on it to force big plays, and have to pick our spots. We do blitz a fair amount, but are forcing incompletions rather than turnovers (the athleticism deficit again), so it just doesn't seem like we do it as often because we blow up fewer plays. I agree that I would have thought we'd have seen more of it in the first Bucs game, but perhaps we thought they'd max-protect Gradkowski and we could smother their receivers.
