Without knowing how the officers were treating him, how do you know it was arrogance? Let's be honest, cops have about the same chance as being calm and respectful as they do being angry and disrespectful. I just think it's funny to hear several people say they lost respect for Vilma when they don't know exactly what happened, only vague details. What if it comes out that the officer was in the wrong as far as the arrest is concerned? Would you regain your respect for Vilma? Or is the act of daring to question a cop, no matter what they do, ground for immediate lost of respect? Let it be made clear I do not think the cop has done anything wrong, but this black-and-white perspective just seems out of whack. Is it smart to question a cop? No. But do a lot of them DESERVE to be questioned? You betcha.

I understand where you are coming from and yes absolutely the respect I had for him can be regained. I hope if he returns to the Saints he will contribute to the city with charitable work like every professional athlete should do. I honestly think with their contracts and how kids look up to them it should be a requirement from every team especially in the NFL. How else can fans regain respect from the players in the NFL? But then again it's not like nobody is watching the NFL but even so it is their duty because of the obscene contracts and especially since a lot of them come from low income backgrounds.

I don't want to get off the topic on this police issue but. I agree with your points. You are correct in the lack of education in law enforcement but when these department don't exactly pay well what do you expect. Thankfully I am not in that category.

As far as this incident I didn't lose repect just because he questioned the COPS? I lost repect when from i read he was driving like a reckless maniac. Now if you did something like that would you say why do i have to get out of the car? I know Vilma is pretty well spoken and seems like a smart guy although he went to Miami(lol) but if I did something like that I would just say to myself damn I got caught. Listen I have locked up a lot of guys who have done stupid stuff but they were man enough to admit wrong doing. My problem is it doesn't sound like he is a stand up guy. You messed up cops caught you, oh well, don't be a jerk about it is all I'm saying.
