Wells would have a big impact. The Saints are already the one of the best ball control offenses in the NFL, but you can always improve. Sean Payton likes to compliment his passing game with a Big RB, and you will not see the balance people want to see until the Saints get a guy who can carry the ball 18-22 times a game and wear down defenses.
The drills are not football related. What is the point of the 40? These guys are football players, not track athletes. The bench press, there is a big difference between how strong you are under the bar and on the football field. The high jump, this is football, not basketball. The high jump might come into play for recievers, but not nearly as much as people believe. Another big thing, football players play in pads. They don't run around in spandex. And the biggest, why in the world would you judge a player on what he did in 3 days rather than what he did in 3 years? The NFL Combine is the most overrated and biggest waste of time event in the NFL. And if you ever run into NFL coaches or scouts, they will tell you the same. Just much more educated.
Who then? Cushing and Matthews are not worth the 14th pick. I've bene stating this for god knows how long. And most on this forum don't like either. Even though there are the people who have fallen in love just because of their combine numbers and measureables.
Lets put it this way, there are defensive players that could be taken. But none are that n word. Even though in the first you should look at BPA, not that n word.
