See, the thing is that Abe was 6'5; maybe too tall for a safety. I always pictured him as an OLB in a 3-4... and by "always" I mean in the 40 seconds since I read that post. Bookend him with Grant and you've got toughness and humour all in there. Roosevelt's a perfect 3-4 ILB to complement Ike.

Also, we've got Taft, a prototype 3-4 NT.

Now comes the big question: Which president can play safety? :shrug:
