Artists it's okay to hate

I used the "indie" to describe a genre of people, not music, in order to make a broad point and avoid writing an essay.
I really don't want to argue with anyone about this. Like I said, I misread the op apparently, and once again, I am getting flak for not liking the bands I am supposed to. I like loads of bands within the genres mentioned and that share the same genre as the bands mentioned. For instance, I love The Velvet Underground but hate Nico...whatever. Lets all just gang up on NICKLBACK for bastageizing pop radio. Like I said, ya'll are acting like 1 genre has more artistic merit, but that is all subjective. For example I rather listen to Stevie B sing Springlove than The Arcade fire. At least I know I will be having fun..."Springlove....come back to me........and thats when my heartache begaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, heart ache be-ganan" Yeah thats wassup!

You have a good point in questioning the artistic merits of each genre. I believe that there are good bands and ****** bands in each genre. And while it was not my intention to nominate questionable acts (my initial intention was to come up with a consensus on bands it is, in fact, okay to hate on as opposed to ones that are hated and loved by members on this board), I find nothing wrong with your posts. It's a forum for discussing all things about music. This is a more fruitful discussion, anyhow.

So, with that, it's perfectly fine to not like those acts, but I still disagree on plenty of them being terrible acts. :9:
