Rock music with a rapper has been utterly gross in my opinion. Rap-styled music with an occasional rock-edge does work and I do kinda dig it. In summary:

Mos Def rocking=ok
Beastie Boys rocking=ok
Limp Bizkit rapping=not ok
311 rapping=not ok
Kottonmouth Kings=epic failure

Limp Bizkit and 311 are two completely opposite styles of band. I hope you can tell the difference.

311 as a whole write about peace, unity and loving life while Limp Bizkit wrote about....well I don't really know what they wrote about.

BTW The Beastie Boys started out as a punk band well before they were the rap icons that they are today. Does that stil make it ok that they rap?
