The New Orleans Saints and the state of Louisiana today announced a new deal designed to keep the team in Louisiana through at least 2025.

Under terms of the agreement, the state would cap inducement payments to the team at $6 million. Those payments are currently more than $23 million per year.

The Saints instead will get state dollars by buying the former Dominion Tower next to the Superdome and leasing office space to the state. The team will also have new opportunities to generate cash from consumers instead of from the state.
