How Come No One Knows About This?

I remember the ferry disaster. Bad and sad news indeed.

Anyone else remember the Union Faith collision? We were visiting on the west bank and went to watch from water level in Algiers. As a kid (adults too, I guess) it was terrifying to see all that flaming carnage and hear the ship dying.

Don't know if it's still there, but for a long time the nav buoy in the middle of the river just downstream of the bridge marked her resting spot.
