Yeah, no one seems to. I forgot how I came across it, but it was well after college, and a little while after Columbine. I was pretty shocked that it had happened, but even more shocked that it never came up in any of the discussions about the tragedies at US schools in the news or even on the net :( I guess we get used to thinking you need TV and modern crowding to go that kind of nuts, but evidently we've had our nuts for over a century at the very least.

Oh, and for the record I do remember the ferry, but hadn't thought about it or the old grain elevator explosions in a long time. I remember feeling one of the latter over in Jefferson Parish.
