TAMPA, Fla. — New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister didn’t have the biggest game of his career, but he did pass a personal milestone in Sunday’s 31-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

McAllister, who finished with 32 yards and a 3-yard touchdown run on 15 carries, reached the 5,000-yard mark in career rushing on a 5-yard run on his first attempt of the second half in Raymond James Stadium.

McAllister, the club’s all-time leading rusher, now has 5,016 rushing yards for his six-year career — with 4,925 yards coming since he became the featured back in 2002.

Also, McAllister’s TD run in the third quarter was the 39th of his career, tying the club record set by Dalton Hilliard.
