Bushrod tough to keep down

HE'D HAVE enough on his mind if he were simply preparing for the Philadelphia Eagles' aggressive defense. But there's even more on Jermon Bushrod's plate this week.
The King George High School graduate will try to score as many tickets as he can from his New Orleans Saints teammates for the numerous friends and family members who'd like to make the trip to Philadelphia on Sunday. Each player gets two tickets to road games, and Bushrod has earmarked his pair for his mother and father.
He'll also spend the week rehabilitating injuries he suffered in the Saints' opening 45-27 victory over Detroit. After waiting two years for his first chance to start an NFL game, he's determined not to let a bruised knee and a slight high ankle sprain keep him out of a second.
"The bruised knee isn't bad. The ankle sprain will need some treatment," Bushrod said in a telephone interview Tuesday. "That's my plan [to play Sunday]. I feel with treatment, I should be able to go."
