N/S Phillips interception

Not the point that they missed it. It's them tooting that whistle so quickly all the time and killing a chance for a proper review. The refs need to work with replay and not against it. Swallow the whistle, let the play complete, then go into review. If it's an incomplete pass you can wipe the TD away, no harm. But by blowing the whistle, even though you got the INT right you killed the TD.
i've read the rational for blowing the whistle is that there is a belief it will prevent injuries by stopping the play if they "think" it is legitimately over. Problem is, they are going to be wrong sometimes. until they have sensors in the ball that change it's color once it hits the turf, it's going to up to the clown with the whistle in his mouth.
