Saints QB lights up Bucs in rout

Halfway through the 2006 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers showed again Sunday why they are a team with a 2-6 record.
The Bucs, who keep paying lip service to turning around their season, had the triple incentive of a home game against a division opponent and the chance to cut into the first-place team's lead. And they could do nothing about it. They let the game get out of hand early and did not have the firepower late on either side of the ball to give themselves a chance to win.
Tampa Bay (2-6) trailed by two scores or more early for the fifth time in eight games, 17-0, and ultimately lost by that 17-point margin, 31-14, to the New Orleans Saints (6-2). The fed-up fans, who booed the Bucs often, got so disgusted by the fourth quarter that they practically emptied Raymond James Stadium.
