Jesus, you're not conservative enough

I'm not sure how Jesus could be characterized as liberal, given that he wanted Judaism to return to some of the values and ethics that he felt had been abandoned.

I'm not sure how Jesus could be characterized as conservative, given that he associated with tax collectors and eschewed tradition and religious law to preach and perform miracles on the Sabbath.

I am pretty sure, though, that Jesus isn't easily pigeon-holed as a particular kind of individual, politically, since his interest (if we take the words as recorded) was not in the political arena. Defying political leaders was really more what John the Baptist was all about, since his role was to prepare the way for Jesus.
