Saints-Steelers Hall of Fame Game - August 5th

I swear I was not trying to impose on a thread with my comments, but I don't know where thewyrm is from but around here everybody is switching to DirecTv. When we came back after the storm if you didn't have DirecTv then you did not have TV at all for about 2-3 months. They must have upgraded the satellites because mine never goes out, even in thunderstorms. Cable tried to strong arm everybody for too long and now they are paying the price for that by losing subscribers. This stuff they are doing with the local networks, trying to strong arm them also is just driving people away. Here is a good example of what I am talking about. In St.Tammany parish, Charter does not carry the NFL network because they say NFL network wants to charge them too much to carry it. That is ridiculous when you think about it. First, with the amount they are charging for cable packages there is no way that carrying the NFL network would hurt them. Secondly, how bout getting rid of about 10-20 bs channels that they are cramming down everyones throat and use that money to carry something everybody wants? If you have cable you know there are about 25 channels of infomercials and spanish and just bs stuff. Believe me, with the way satellite is set up and the freedom it allows the customer along with the exclusive programming which is not leaving any time soon, it is just a matter of time before the only reason you will have cable is for internet service. Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with satellite or DirecTv in any way other than a happy subscriber of 9 years. Also, I think it is great that the Saints get the first game of the year. This makes our wait a little less and I have allways wanted to visit the HOF so this gives me the best oppourtunity I probably will ever have.
