I work right off of Causeway, so I spend an inordinate amount of time in that entire part of Metairie. However, I've mastered going to Gamestop.

Go over Vets to 17th and enter lakeside via the back. If you're picking up a reserve game, park in the loading zone by the back entrance on the Causeway side (where the yogurt stand is). Put your hazards on and just run in.

If you need more time, park either in the garage by Dillards or on the side across from Phil's and cut through JCPenny's.

I can do either and be back in the office in about 15 minutes.

I used to always park on the Severn side of JC Pennys; before the new garage got built that was a sleeper spot that nobody ever parked in. The garage eliminated that, making all surface spots virtually unattainable nowadays.

I've got a running bet with my wife that Lakeside totally ruined their parking situation by building that new Macy's and the accompanying garage.

I understand her point that more spaces have been created. But the access to these spaces is limited to one or two ways, whereas before it was wide open.

I'm predicting 30 min wait times to get in or out of that new garage come Christmas time.

I'm not saying they shouldn't have built the Macy's; I'm just saying that place is going to be even more foobar than usual this Christmas.

Which reminds me, I need to start doing my online Christmas shopping so I don't have to go anywhere near that zoo this year.
