Why do we always end up playing "trap" games? Not only do we play the Steelers, but next week we play the Bengals, who are also struggling, in the Dome. This never happens to the Falcons or Panthers.
... the Falcons have "trap" seasons for goodness sake! They have never had back to back winning seasons.
All the Saints need to do in this next game is protect the ball and no stupid penalties. If they do that AND the Steelers play well enough to win, so be it.
After 39 years of watching the Saints, I don't believe in the "trap" game theory. Otherwise the Saints would have been undefeated by now. Don't all the other teams automatically think "W" when they play the Saints?
All teams have bad games and we saw that against the Ravens. Even really good, solid teams have a couple of bad games a season. The key is consistency. So far we've seen more of that on offense in a season than I can recall.
So, if the Saints go into Pittsburg and have excessive penalties and turnovers, then I might start becoming concerned (that would be 2 ugly games in 3 weeks). But if they don't turn the ball over excessively OR do the stupid penalty thing, then a loss is still OK with me.
I'll take consistency any day of the week. 9 times out of 10, that's what wins in the NFL.
