He's given up a lot to get to this point - I think he's made a number of concessions when I didn't think he should have, principally. Practically speaking is another matter. But there's a lot of proverbial guns he's thrown down and each one left with is smaller and less powerful than the previous one.
Now he's stuck with a peashooter and we're stuck with a bill I have less faith in than the promise I had when health care was first proposed.
