How would you feel about drones flying around, checking things out?
Fear the state, homies. There's no way this can lead to anything good.
Not at all. Well, other than:
1. The next time there's a terrible hurricane or other natural disaster, they could fly all over the place and spot survivors.
2. When a Code Adam comes along, they can fly around above the woods, etc. looking for friggin heat signatures instead of people combing the countryside on foot. Much greater sight ability than a guy in a helicopter. These things can cover acres in minutes. Impressive to see.
3. When some drughead takes off in a car chase, instead of putting law enforcement in danger, these things can track the dude until he gives up, then call the cops to his hiding place. With greater accuracy and less cost than a helicopter (not to mention you can deploy more.)
4. Umm, I don't know, traffic cams that can cover all the major routes at once, alerting authorities and local news if something happens? Tracking wildfires? Watching floodlines when it's hard to have "boots on the ground"? Watching the perimeters of prisons? BORDER CONTROL????
Oh yeah....
4. The government can use them to track your every move, use their x-ray vision to see inside your home, and take the numbers off the credit card you're using to buy internet porn at 1000 feet. Boogity boogity boogity!
It all comes down to safety, not personal privacy. You know, they have satellites if they want to spy on you.
