I have Red light camera ticket question.

At least you got to vote them out. We here in Jefferson Parish never had a say in whether or not they were they should go up in the first place. Now they are in shut down mode because of financial links between Redflex, lobbyists, and elected officals. All of the fine money is still stuck in escrow due to various pending lawsuits against the system and the limited ability to fight them in court.

And the irony is that Redflex has threatend to sue the parish to get them turned back on because they want their money.

I'm assuming you're referring to Causeway and 17th Street. As far as I know, Jefferson Parish's cameras don't have speed detectors.

And for the original OP, I assume you were in Orleans Parish because their system is still running and has the speed cameras too. And I doubt you'll be able to win any fight in court and it will cost you more if you lose. You're probably better off paying the fine unless you have a real good reason (like you were on the way to the hospital) and you can absolutely prove it.

The JP ones detect speed, because they tell you how fast you were going at the time, but they are not triggered to take pictures for speeding. The pictures are a surprising high-resolution. I know because my wife got one at Causeway and Vets.
