Reggie as a punt returner

*ATTENTION - THIS IS NOT A REGGIE BASH THREAD*

Should we look for a replacement punt returner? 4.8 yards is not too good, compared to some of the better PR's in the NFL like DeSean Jackson (15.2), Josh Cribbs (11.9), Wes Welker (12.5), etc.

Grant it, Reggie was nursing his injury early in the season, and it seemed like he was trying to take it easy, so maybe he will be better this season. But if not, should we be looking at a new Punt returner? Maybe Larry Beaver if he proves himself?

He was intensely frustrating and unproductive in the role last year; at other points, he's been game-changing. His performance in that role last year was not what we needed, but it's hard to deny him the opportunity because he's occasionally been so electrifying. If Rod Harper found a way to stick on the roster, he was very promising as a punt returner last preseason with two returned kicks for touchdowns. We've rarely put Reggie back there full-time, and he could be a more attractive alternate than Lance Moore. Either way, we need more production and less mistakes than we got out of the punt return game last year.
