unfortunately we didnt really address to many big needs in free agency or the draft this year. im kind of disappointed in the teams effort to try and repeat or at least keep building during the offseason

i dont agree that it takes 3 years for players to develop. some players get it right off the bat and some players cant. but to simply lump them all together and say that DTs take 3 years to develop is bein way too generic

i think that putting a talented DT next to will smith and sedrick ellis would not only raise their level of play, but it would allow the rookie to utilize his skills in the mismatches that the other 2 guys create

This year we were limited by the final 6 rule, I was also disappointed in what they did but I think they did as best as they could. They did what they could in FA and did what they always do in the draft. They just aren't the team that's going to reach for a prospect just because he fills a need.

Sure there are a few guys that get it right off the bat but they are few and far between. Most rookies are backups and maybe rotational players, few are impact players and those that are, are usually high draft picks. Sedrick Ellis showed flashes but now he's starting to really explode. Linval Joseph has been a gameday inactive for the Giants. 3 years is being to general but to bet the house on a draft pick getting it right off the bat isn't a good bet to make.

Not to mention, our DT's have been holding down their end of the deal pretty well this year, but our DE's just aren't getting any pressure. Not to mention they'll all be over 30 next year except for Junior Galette. IMO, if there are 2 similarly rated prospects at DT and DE we'll draft the DE.
