The Saints personify hope for a city still in recovery

The New Orleans Saints entered this season knowing they'd be the feel-good story of the year, regardless of how many games they won and lost. They were, after all, returning to their home, the Superdome, for the first time since Hurricane Katrina tore through the Gulf Coast last August, killing hundreds and causing millions of dollars in property damage.
Three weeks into the season they were then flying high following a 23-3 "Monday Night Football" rout of the Atlanta Falcons in front of a sold-out Superdome in their first game in the city since last year. The crowd, made up of many residents who were still reeling from damage caused by flooding, was loud and emotional.
"One of the most emotional games I've ever been involved in," said Saints defensive tackle Hollis Thomas, who, like many of his teammates, was acquired in the offseason but quickly learned that this wasn't an ordinary team in an ordinary season.
