Week 15: In there stepped a stately Raven of the Saintly days of yore-- Nevermore!!

You do realize that that's where the Ravens name comes from, right? (Edgar Allen Poe is a Baltimore native)

Anyway...Great read.

I think a big part of Baltimore's downfall is something that surprisingly doesn't get mentioned often. People point to age, but I think it also has to do with the loss of Rex Ryan. They've gone through some DCs in the past and sustained things, but they haven't been able to replace Ryan well.

Honestly, I had no clue. I though it was coincidence their color was purple too. Though I do disagree about Ryan. It is more to do with age. Ryan wasn't the DC when they went to the SB (that would be Marvin Lewis). I think Mike Nolan followed him, then left in 2005 to coach the Niners. Ryan took over in 2006, but he's been gone for two years.

I don't want to minimize his talents, but the Ravens have had 3 very good defensive coordinators in the past decade and are on their 4th. The defense had always been the staple but they are lacking at CB, and their LB corp aint what it used to me. They are getting old on the defensive line and at Safety as well.
