how many NFL QBs can throw two picks like that and still win a game??
maybe two or three
:worthy: Brees :cheer:
Speaking of the picks...
I've had a superbowl hangover since... well since the SB. If they lost, it wasn't that difficult to deal with. I mean it bothered me, but it wasn't the end of the world.
We'd already been to the end of the world, bought the t-shirt, sent some postcards, climbed the mountain, found the wise old man at the top and kicked him in the jiblets.
I hadn't really put much thought into the individual struggles of the team though.
I think I'm over the SB hangover though, and I'm ready to take another trip to the end.
With that said, and since my hangover is fading away, pieces of the game are becoming more clear for me and it seems like Brees' is simply trying too hard.
He's trying to do TOO much on his own. There was some talk about off-season route running, timing, cohesion built up between 9 and the receivers.
It's as if they've had some issues with getting that time in for learning each other again, and it seems to force him to make crazy attempts when things break down vs. a situation where a receiver might 'know' that extra step to take, or might have a juke move in his back pocket that 9 is expecting to get open and make a play...
I think they need to get back to basics. What did they do last year that they've taken for granted this year?
I need to believe that guys like Moore would be there after hours working, and Jimmy Graham just seems like a sponge. I don't think you could keep him off the practice field for some extra-curricular stuffs.
I think it's just a matter of the team asking themselves to look at the ring on their hand, and determine if they want another one.
All that, and it probably has something to do with that big SB target on their backs... :idunno:
Whatever... I've just got to a point this season where something has changed, something clicked, and SB44 was amazing. But I'm greedy. I want another one now.
