Bobby Hebert's gamble in 1990 paid off big for NFL's players

Hebert would have choked like he always did.

That dude used to drive me nuts. I loved those defenses.

We'll never know now. But our defense that year, a lot less would have been needed from him to make a SB run. That was our best shot to make it under the Jim Mora era.

That was really the year Wayne Martin came into his own, and having such a disruptive lineman backed up by the dome patrol was scary.

That was a really fun defense to watch.
