I live in NOLA. I'm a die-hard Saints fan. I couldn't care less about LSU. Ergo, radio sucks.

Pretty much everybody on my mothers side went to LSU.
I was raised rooting for them, even before I knew what the Saints were (born in Baton rouge). However, the main reason I root for them is because they represent our state at the collegiate level. My school ULL is in a smaller division and so is Tulane, so they don't play for much of anything other than local pride. LSU plays to compare Louisiana football to other State football. That's what makes it exciting to root for. The Saints, well they represent Louisiana on a professional level that even goes international, so LSU doesn't come close to comparing to THAT pride. So basically, I hope that that ULL does well. I follow LSU football and root for them. AND I ALWAYS WATCH SAINTS GAMES NO MATTER WHAT.

I hope you're aware that the University of Louisiana is 6-1, and is now bowl eligible. I've read somewhere that UL is ranked around 40 in the country in some publications. UL is on track to make a bowl game for the first time in modern history. True, the "Bourbon Bowl" in New Orleans is not considered to be a major bowl, but it's a start. The economic impact of UL going to New Orleans for a bowl game will be a nice shot in the arm for the New Orleans economy. I've heard estimates that 40,000 Cajun fans will attend the bowl game.

You remind me of my sister-in-law, who attended UL, and recently showed up at my wife's birthday party wearing an LSU shirt, along with her snotty little son. She's never stepped foot at LSU-A&M, no family is from Baton Rouge, but feels this strange allegiance to that school in Baton Rouge. The only reason I bring up the LSU shirt is that it was a UL Football themed party.

Try taking a little pride in the university that you attended, go to a couple of UL games, sit in the stands, drink beer (which is legal at Cajun Field) and root for your alma mater.
