perhaps, but he had all off season. yes its been a hard 13 for him but if a road to glory has been presented to you will you forsake it? most know a warriors path. i questioned his when he quit.

I think what happened to him is that he probably slacked off during the lockout and when the Bears cut him, he got ****** and it made him want to keep playing just to prove them wrong. That need to prove them wrong carried him through the Chicago game, but once that was over he probably started to realize he just didn't have a passion for the game anymore.
And, yeah, it would have been nice for him to stick around as a backup to teach De La Puente and/or Tennant, but he's really only been with the Saints for about 3 month so I doubt he feels any really close connection to this team or this city. And, to some extent, I respect the fact that he would rather retire than collect a paycheck for sitting around.
