Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen offers apology to New Orleans residents, not city

Really? Come on.
Yes really. I don't see the difference; explain it to me.

I don't like what Allen said or the way he said it. But as an out-of-towner, although I love New Orleans and consider it my home away from home, the streets of the tourist areas are filthy and there obviously is a crime problem.
I certainly don't disagree with that. They should stop letting all those filthy tourists in. :hihi:

Allen said it in a really crappy way, but clearly you can criticize a city while not criticizing the citizens, since many citizens criticize the city for the very things I just posted.
The citizens ARE the city.

On the flip side, you can certainly apologize to one without the other.
When you apologize to a city, who are you apologizing to?

What you're saying is right up there with "you can't support the troops without supporting the war."
false

That all said, Jared Allen is a and I couldn't care less what he thinks of any city anywhere.
true! When I start caring what a mullet-headed yokel thinks about me, then y'all can line up in front of me and start delivering chin shots.
