Reality of the matter is that the team, Loomis, Williams, Payton and Vitt didn't have the chance to defend themselves, based on the sword of the Commisioner's powers. They may get some salary back, but that is it.
The NFL won't accept having a weak case, actually, they are making more intense the heat against the team on their network.
The consequences of this is the players losing all confidence on the objectivity of the Commissioner's office, and this can translate on some owners too, but not the majority.
