Jon Stewart's plea for gun control

Guns aren't the problem. Guns are tools used to improperly deal with the real problems. Gun related violence is just a symptom. I think bclemms makes a lot of good points. 1400 child deaths a year from drunk driving is like death by a thousand cuts. No individual event raises the alarm but all together they add up to a lot.

Laws concerning gun control are weak. There would be a lot more alcohol and car related deaths if the laws addressing them were as weak as gun laws.

"In 2009, just ten states supplied nearly half – 49% - of the guns that crossed state lines before being recovered in crimes. Together, these states accounted for nearly 21,000 interstate crime guns recovered in 2009."
