nose tackle is priority number 1 with a 3 - 4 alignment

I just got done watching tape on the top 3 DT/NT that we would have a chance to draft, excluding Star Lotulelei, because he will be drafted way earlier than we'll pick.

So, I reviewed tape on Jesse Williams, Johnathan Hankins and John Jenkins. John Jenkins was the most disappointing, in my opinion. He had no explosiveness whatsoever. I mean he rarely, if ever, put pressure on the pocket and was strictly a lane clogger that got blown up by double teams on more occasions than you would like from a NT.

Johnathan Hankins is very nimble for a man weighing 330lbs. He pressured the pocket consistently, demanded a double team and had good backside pursuit. The only thing I noticed that I didnt like was he wore down easily. Which is understandable for a man of his stature, but he will have to work on that.

Lastly, Jesse Williams. He was by far the most explosive of the 3 NT's that I reviewed. He displayed tremendous explosiveness, demanded a double team almost always (occasionally demand a triple team) and collapsed the pocket A LOT! He didnt have the nimbleness of Hankins, but he had much better strength and was never moved off the line of scrimmage in the tapes I reviewed. Even against constant double teams. My biggest worry with Williams is his injury history. He injured his right knee in community college and just recently in the SEC Championship game, he irritated the injury. I didnt read anything about needing surgery for the most recent incident though.

So, needless to say Jesse Williams would be my pick!
