I agree that those are some glaring needs, but I don't think there are any tight ends/nose tackles/DE that offer as much upside as Bumphis in the 6th round. If we re-sign bushrod I could see Kwame Geathers being taken instead of Nixon.
Some folks may not like him, but IMO, while he aint great, Bushrod is a solid starting NFL LT. He's a young vet who knows the scheme and the O. And I keep preaching the importance of continuity along the O line. We'll never get any if we continue to change personnel EVERY offseason. Because of our tight cap situation, give him a contract with a nice signing bonus over 4-5 yrs, and he wont cost much in yr one against it. But most importantly, with JB signed, we wont have to use an early pick on an OT.
Meanwhile, we could use help at every level on D: D line, LB and DB. In Jordan, Thomas, Okoro, and Geathers we get just that. Whether they start, become part of the rotation, or backup, all can can come in and contribute as rooks.
