The New Orleans Saints defensive makeover is in full swing with the signing of new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Ryan, the former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator, will oversee the Saints’ defensive transition from a 4-3 to a 3-4 alignment. With Ryan as the new defensive coordinator it would only make sense for him to bring in some players familiar with his coaching style.

One player that could be a potential candidate to join Ryan with the Saints is Cowboys linebacker, Anthony Spencer. Spencer is coming off a career year with the Cowboys and reunion with Ryan could be beneficial for the player and coach.

Spencer recorded career highs in tackles (95) and sacks (11) last season under Ryan. However, Spencer is set to be a free agent this off-season and after such a tremendous season he will be demanding a lucrative contract. Last season Spencer made about $8.8 million with the Cowboys and if he were to come to the Saints he could easily demand about $10 million a year.
