IIRC, he played 4-3 DE but was used a lot like a 3-4 OLB. He dropped into coverage very often and was used as a pass rusher. So the transition wouldn't be painful by any means. He wouldn't be able to participate in rookie camp drills and OTA's but I'm sure he would attend and at least begin to learn the nuances of what's expected of him. If it's 3-4 months recovery time then I'm sure he'd be ready by training camp and should at least fight for a roster spot.
